Submit Articles to the Spring 2023 IIENetworker Magazine

Technology’s impact on international education is as inevitable as it is significant. As ever evolving and innovative platforms are developed and the EdTech market booms, it is important to reflect on how we are using them to further international exchange. We saw during the COVID-19 pandemic that technology could be adapted to enable the global flow of knowledge, but also learned that virtual contact could not completely substitute the value or experience of in-person programs. What technological adaptations will continue to be used? How can technology expand access to international experience without losing touch with the heart of study abroad – people-to-people exchange? For the spring 2023 IIENetworker magazine, IIE invites our IIENetwork members and partners to share what’s in your technology toolbox to facilitate and expand international education.

Key questions to consider include:

• What tools does your organization use to expand global learning or study abroad to traditionally underserved students? To advance language learning and acquisition? To foster collaborations and build international partnerships? To support student/scholar recruitment in emerging markets?
• Does reliance on technology create barriers that need to be addressed?
• What technology are you using to support community building among students, program participants, alumni, or other groups?
• How can technology support risk-assessment, security, and well-being for students while they are in unfamiliar environments?

Original article submissions are due Monday, January 9, 2023. All submissions must be maximum 800 words and submitted as a Word document.
